Internet Week Europe

We are very excited that Internet Week Europe, (#iweu to use it’s Twitter tag) is in the UK for the first time. So we are making the most of it.

We’ll be writing up our meanderings throughout the week, here on wearesuburb, our Posterous and via Twitter. In order to keep track of all the events the Suburbanites are attending across the week, we’ve created our own Google map which we’ll update as we go.

If you’re out and about come and say hello, we may even buy you a drink or two.

Airside/Outside at Glug

Thursday 28th October, we bobbed down to Cargo for the Airside/Outside and Glug London Notworking event.

An eclectic affair, the evening got off to a flying start with Jamie Wieck of Airside taking us through their work and introducing us to the evening’s theme of ‘Storytelling’.

Design a FAB® Community Den 2010

The Design a FAB® Community Den 2010 campaign we kicked off on the 1st May has a winner.

Now in its third year, this year’s campaign aimed to encourage kids to submit designs for a community den in their local area.

Intern programme – rebooted

Suburb is searching for an enthusiastic and proactive person with an interest in web design for an internship. As an intern you will join our exciting team at our Southwark office and will see the inner workings of a digital production agency.

Introducing Kat

Kat has recently joined the ‘burb in the role of digital producer. Coming directly from Jetix/Disney, her experience with the ‘youf’ market will be invaluable. Kat will be working along side the peerless Moe across a wide range of clients including Miss Sporty, Fab and Skinny Cow.

Apparently Kat likes walking in her spare time, so won’t be too concerned by tube strikes.

An iPad Holiday

On release, I was unconvinced that there was a place in my life for an iPad. Did I really need an over-sized iPhone that sat uncomfortably between my existing iPhone and my MacBook? It was never going to replace my laptop for work purposes and it would be ridiculous to use regularly as a phone.

Introducing Clare – Recruiting is not always difficult

When we started the search for an interactive developer, we were bracing ourselves for the usual lengthy process of briefing agents, reading dozens of CV’s and several rounds of interviews. Then Samu had a “moment of clarity” and got in touch with one of his former colleagues from Atticmedia. The stars aligned just right for this one, and after only one meeting, we hired Clare.

Coming to the Suburbs after stints at Sapient, Atticmedia and Fortune Cookie and with a portfolio of award winning work. We’re excited about Clare’s arrival and can not wait to get her started on some of the exciting projects we have in the pipeline.

Digital Production Agency (own teeth) seeks two like minded individuals for hard work and fun

Are you a project manager with 2-3 years experience? Do you love working with interesting people in a fast paced environment? If the answer to these and other questions is ‘Yes’, then we’d love to hear from you.

We’re also on the lookout for a Flash developer. Of course, we need someone experienced with AS3, frameworks, AS libraries, server side and client side integration. We also need someone with a real interest in similar interactive technologies (jQuery, HTML5, Processing etc). We know you exist, and we want to meet you.

Send your CV wowing us with reasons to reach for the phone to us@wearesuburb.com

Please no Agencies.
We do not want to hear from agencies. We have a couple of agencies we work with and we do not want to work with any more. Please do not phone up. We know you will, but there really is no point. It is wasting both of our time, although we fear ours is slightly more precious than yours.
