We are very happy to welcome Zeynep Mermer to Suburb as a Junior Producer.
Turning her back on the giddy world of fashion – Zeynep was previously Deputy store manager of Zara both in Turkey and the UK, an assistant brand manager at BNG, a fashion designer in Turkey and a former graduate of St. Martins, in Fashion Styling and Fashion Design and Marketing – phew!
Our summer campaign for FAB® has now kicked off. This summers campaign aims to boost brand engagement and sales of the nation’s number one ice lolly, FAB®.
For this years campaign we’ve redesigned a large portion of the microsite, as well as building on the success of 2010’s public voting features. New functionality includes a gallery of all the approved entries received, social sharing and voting.
We’re looking for a Junior Flash Designer/Developer with strong AS3 skills to join our design team. This is an exciting role for anyone looking to build on their existing AS2/AS3 skills
A couple of weeks ago I was invited by McCormack & Morrison to be one of the judges at their Day of Hack event. I’m always pleased to be invited to anything, and I love listening to other peoples ideas. So I graciously accepted and set off for west London, typically getting lost on the way. The brief given to the three groups, was to think of a “digital idea that helps our industry” and to present concepts, wireframes, scope, budget, timings and commercial models by the end of the day.
Instead of sending out Christmas cards, either paper or digital (eurghh), we decided to donate the money, we’d typically spend, to some worthy local charities. We shortlisted eight charities based around Southwark, and built a game that friends and clients (some of whom are also our friends) could play in order to help us determine which charity receives what from the pot of charity pounds. The result is the Wheel of Giving. Please give it a whirl.

We are pleased to welcome Suburb’s newest intern, Natàlia (never Nat, and do not forget the accent on the à).
When you are so used to working in one language, it is easy to underestimate the complexities involved in working in another language. The opportunities are not always that readily available either. So when Coty Benelux asked us to produce a localised version of the miss-sporty.co.uk website for them into Dutch, we gladly accepted.

Updated Creds
It’s been a busy few months at Suburb (hence the lack of site updates). We have found time to update our creds though, with some of the exciting projects we’ve been working on for the likes of Dr.Martens with HYPERNAKED and lots of lovely Online Advertising projects with our friends at Saint.
